Verified Hours

Terms of Use

Last updated September 21, 2026

Verified Hours is run by Upspire Studio. These terms cover everyone who uses verifiedhours.org: volunteers, nonprofit coordinators, caseworkers checking a letter, and agency or payer staff. By using the site, you agree to these terms.

What Verified Hours does

Verified Hours turns a confirmed volunteer shift into a signed record and a one-page letter that states the hours a nonprofit confirmed for you. Anyone with the letter's QR code or link can check that the record is real at verifiedhours.org/v/[record id].

Verified Hours does not decide whether you qualify for SNAP, Medicaid, or any other benefit. We give you accurate proof of confirmed hours. Your caseworker or agency decides what counts toward your requirement.

Who can use it

You must be able to enter into these terms where you live. A volunteer links a profile with a phone number. A coordinator signs in with a work email on behalf of a nonprofit they represent. A payer account is created by us for an agency, E&T provider, or MCO after we confirm who they are.

Free for volunteers and nonprofits

Recipients never pay to use Verified Hours. Nonprofits never pay to confirm hours or issue letters. Agencies and payers who use the dashboard, export, or API may be on a paid plan under a separate agreement with us.

Accounts and accuracy

Volunteers sign in with a phone code. Coordinators and payers sign in with an emailed link, and payers also confirm a second factor. Keep your phone, email, and any device passkey secure — anyone who can sign in as you can act as you.

Coordinators confirm hours on behalf of their nonprofit and are responsible for the accuracy of what they confirm. If a confirmed shift was wrong, a coordinator can correct it. A correction creates a new record and marks the old letter superseded — nothing is quietly edited, and the history stays visible.

What you agree not to do

  • Submit or confirm hours you know are false.
  • Try to alter, copy, or fake a letter or verification record.
  • Use the API or site to search for or pull records you have not been given a link to.
  • Interfere with the service, probe it for vulnerabilities without permission, or overload it.
  • Use another person's account or phone number without their permission.

Your data

We collect the minimum needed to confirm and prove hours — never health, income, or household information. See the Privacy Policy for what we collect, who can see it, and how to delete your profile. We do not sell your data, and we do not run ads on Verified Hours.

No warranty

Verified Hours is provided as-is. We work to keep records accurate and the service available, but we do not guarantee it will be error-free or uninterrupted, and we are not responsible for a benefits decision made by a caseworker or agency.

Limits on liability

To the extent the law allows, Upspire Studio is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Verified Hours, including a lost or delayed benefit. This does not limit liability where the law does not allow it.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product changes. We will update the date at the top of this page when we do. Continuing to use Verified Hours after a change means you accept the update.
